Envoy offers hostels in two locations:

Envoy Yerevan	Envoy Tbilisi
Envoy Yerevan is literally in the heart of Yerevan! Positioned in the city circle and only 3 minutes walk to the main artery' Mashtots Ave and the Opera House, lined with cafe's and outdoor events throughout summer!	Position in the charming Old Town area Envoy Tbilisi is centrally located. Overlooked by the Narikala Fortress its is a stroll from the bath houses. Enjoy the impressive views from the balcony before you go out to explore the charm of this wonderful city.

Below is more detailed instruction on how to get to Envoy depending on how you arrive in Yerevan or Tbilisi... By Air, Bus or Train.

 

• Yerevan Zvartnots Airport to Envoy Yerevan

  There are 3 main choices:

   

  1. By Airport Pick Up - Arrivals at any time in the day 24 hours a day 365 days of the year!

  Trip Length:	Approximately 25 minutes
  Difficulty Rating:	Easy - everything is pre arranged so nothing to do but to spot the Envoy Logo sign and your name at the airport
  Cost Rating:	Medium - ranges from 7500 to 13000 AMD (approx 15 - 40 dollars depending on number of people)
  Experience Rating:	Fantastic! Feel like a celebrity! You will be greeted at the airport by our driver holding a sign for YOU! All that is missing is the red carpet :)

   

  Payment can be made to the hostel when you arrive.

  Cost is 7,500 AMD for 1-2 people

  and     13,000 AMD for 3-8 people

  Larger groups can be arranged as well.

  2. By Taxi 

  Trip Length:	Approximately 35 minutes (including time to find Taxi - they are normally plenty waiting - if arriving on special occassion/ festive date might be an issue)
  Difficulty Rating:	Medium - as you need to agree price with Taxi driver
  Cost Rating:	Medium - about 3000 - 5000 AMD (approx 10-15 dollars)
  Experience Rating:	Average - You will drive through the 'Las Vegas' of Yerevan - nothing to write home about

  
  You can catch a taxi straight from the airport, as soon as you exit. Taxis must be marked with a company logo and have a meter. Nevertheless to ensure you dont get overcharged agree on the fee before you accept the ride. To take a taxi from the airport to Envoy Hostel (at 54 Pushkin St, entrance via Parpetsi St), it will cost approximately 3,000 - 5,000 AMD (the variance depends on time of day eg: 2 am vs 2 pm arrival).
  
  
  3. By Marshrutka (local public transport mini buses) - an option for arrivals between 8.00am and 5.30pm daily

   

  Trip Length:	Approximately 1 - 1.5 hour (including walking 20 min and waiting for Marshrutka to fill up to leave the airport)
  Difficulty Rating:	High
  Cost Rating:	Cheap! its only 350 AMD to catch the Marshrutka! But make sure you change money at the airport for this and try to get small change. Its actually 250 AMD for one person and 100 AMD for each piece of large luggage.
  Experience Rating:	Unforgetable experience! You would have experienced public transport, tackled a bit of the language, tested your navigational skills and even seen some of the city has to offer that you might want to go back to!

   

  Here's a step by step guide:

  • Marshrutka No. 108 runs from the airport to the downtown (operating between the abovementioned hours).
  • To get to the Marshrutka station, coming out of the airport take a left and walk about 200 meters. You will reach a small parking lot where usually taxis and Marshrutka wait for people. Catch the No. 108 which will bring you to the Eritasardakan metro station.
  • Make sure you tell the driver "Eritasardakan metro kaian stop" (Kaian meaning station) - so he knows to drop you off.
  • Pay the driver as you get off (currently 250AMD per person and 100AMD per luggage)
  • From the Eritasardakan metro station walk all the way down Abovian Street till you reach the corner of Moskovian Street.
  • Turn right into Moskovian Street and walk 2 blocks down and take a left to Mashtots Ave.
  • Walk another 2 blocks down Mashtots Ave till you reach Pushkin Street - almost there!
  • Walk to the first cross road and turn right into Parpetsi Street - as soon as you turn you will see the Envoy Logo sign at the door
  • Good news you are at home !!

• Tbilisi International Airport to Envoy Tbilisi

  There are 4 options

  1. By Airport Pick Up - Arrivals at any time in the day 24 hours a day 365 days of the year!

  Trip Length:	Approximately 20 minutes
  Difficulty Rating:	Easy - everything is pre arranged so nothing to do but to spot the Envoy Logo sign and your name at the airport
  Cost Rating:	(varies depending on number of people)
  Experience Rating:	Fantastic! Feel like a celebrity! You will be greeted at the airport by our driver holding a sign for YOU! All that is missing is the red carpet :)

  Payment can be made to the hostel when you arrive.

  Larger groups can be arranged as well.

  2. By Taxi - suitable 24 hours
  

  Trip Length:	Approximately 20 - 30 minutes
  Difficulty Rating:	Easy
  Cost Rating:	Medium approx. 25 GEL. Best to agree with driver before accepting the ride.
  Experience Rating:	Just like any other taxi ride :)

   

  3. By Bus - Daytime operation only (7am till 11pm)

  Trip Length:	Approximately 40 minutes
  Difficulty Rating:	Medium
  Cost Rating:	Cheapest option! 0.5 GEL (ie 50 Tetris - need to pay in local currency). Bus to Avlabari then a 10 minute walk or option of Taxi ride for around 2-3 GEL
  Experience Rating:	Unique experience. Nothing like catching a bus with the locals to get a good first impression. Once you reach the city centre you need to walk a bit to get to the hostel so you can do some sight seeing on the way too!

  • Exhange currency before leaving the airport and make sure you have a 50 Tetris coin for the bus fare (paid directly to the driver)
  • Catch the N37 bus from the airport (operates 7am to 11pm daily leaving at 30 minute intervals) to the city
  • The bus route is: Airport highway, Avlabari Metro station, Freedom Square, Rustaveli ave. and final destination Tbilisi Central Railway Station
  • Get off the bus at the Avlabari Metro Station
  • You have the option of either walking (10 min) to the hostel or catching a taxi (around 3 GEL and 2 minutes ride). Walk down Ghvinis St (ie 'Wine' St), cross Metekhi bridge till you reach Gorgasali Sq, take the street on your left called Samgebro and then turn right into the next street which is Saadi St. You will see Envoy hostel at the junction of Saadi/ Salami and Betlemi St. (Note currently construction in the area is blocking access from Zdanevich Street)
  • Welcome to Envoy Tbilisi!

   

  4. By Train - Trains operate during day time only (starting from 8.30 am)and is meant to be aligned with the flight arrivals

  Trip Length:	Approximately 40 - 50 minutes
  Difficulty Rating:	Hard
  Cost Rating:	Inexpensive! Train ride to the main train station in Tbilisi is only 2 GEL (need to pay in local currency) from there you can catch the metro or bus for less than 1 GEL or catch a cab for 5-10 GEL
  Experience Rating:	Relatively comfortable. The train is new and modern with a capacity of 100 ppl. There is a bit of walking required to get to the hostel once you reach the city centre.

  • Before leaving the airport exchange some money as you need to pay for train ticket in local currency
  • The train station is modern dome shapped building. From there the train ride to the city main train station is approximately 20 minutes.
  • Once you arrive at the main train station you can either catch a taxi, bus or metro to the hostel:
    • Metro Option: Catch a metro to the Avlabari metro station and walk about 10 minutes to the hostel. Best to have a map at hand to navigate the streets but for a quick guide: need to walk down Ghvinis St (ie 'Wine' St), cross Metekhi bridge till you reach Gorgasali Sq, take the street on the left called Samgebro St and then turn into the next street on your right which is Saadi St and from there you will find our hostel on the junction of Saadi/ Salami and Betlemi St. continue walking up the street till you reach the hostel on the left hand side of the Street
    • Bus route 94 or 118 will get you to the hostel (Bus fare is 80 Tetri) - ask the bus driver to let you know where to get off.
    • Taxi ride is likely to be around 5-10 GEL to the hostel from the main train station

• Yerevan's Sasuntsi Davit Train Station to Envoy Yerevan

  There are 2 options:

  1. By Marshrutka (local public transport mini buses)

  Trip Length:	Approx. 30 - 45 minutes including bus ride plus walking to the hostel
  Difficulty Rating:	Medium
  Cost Rating:	Low - its only 100 AMD (approx 30 cents) to catch the Marshrutka! But make sure you have change on you the Marshrutka drivers dont like giving change - if you have a lot of luggage they are likely to charge for the luggage space taken as additional fare (100AMD per piece of luggage).
  Experience Rating:	Unforgetable! Marshrutka's are a fun way to travel around this part of the world - expeience how the locals get around!

  There are many Marshrutka's (local public transport mini buses) running from Kilikia bus station straight to Mashtots Ave (to the Pushkin Bus Stop). Minibus numbers 36, 76, 86 and 96 all come this way. Here is a step by step guide:

  • Cross the road from the Sasuntsi Davit Train Station and wait for the Marshrutka's passing by
  • Catch a Marshrutka (36, 76, 86 or 96) wave for them to stop
  • Tell the driver "Mashtots - Pushkin kaian stop" (Kaian meaning station) - so he knows to tell you when you get to the correct stop.
  • Pay the driver as you get off (currently 100AMD)
  • When you get off the marshrutka cross the road to the opposite side of Mashtots Ave
  • Walk to Puskin St and turn right into it (towards Parpetsi St)
  • Walk to the first cross road and turn right into Parpetsi Street - as soon as you turn you will see the Envoy Logo sign at the door
  • Good news you are at home !!

  Experience Rating:	Eh - just another taxi ride :)

   

  You will need to cross the road from where the Sasuntsi Davit Train Station is and flag down a passing Taxi. Make sure you ask the price of the ride before you accept to take the taxi.

• Yerevan's Kilikia Bus Station to Envoy Yerevan

  There are 2 options:

  1. By Marshrutka (local public transport mini buses)

  Trip Length:	Approx. 30 - 45 minutes including walking to the hostel
  Difficulty Rating:	Medium
  Cost Rating:	Low - its only 100 AMD (approx 30 cents) per person and another 100 AMD per piece of large luggage to catch the Marshrutka! But make sure you have change on you the Marshrutka drivers dont like giving change.
