There are ten essential places that Envoy recommends you to see while visiting our country.
1. Ancient Pagan Temple of Garni from 71 AD and Medieval Geghard Monastery carved in one piece inside a mountain.
2. Lake Sevan surrounded by Medieval Monasteries of Hayravank and Sevanavank.
3. Noratus an old cemetery with more than 500 khachkars (cross-stones) dating back up to the 10th century.
4. Khor Virap Monastery where the history of Armenian Christianity was started some 1700 years ago, nestled on the skirts of Mt Ararat.
5. Noravank Monastery the only place in all of the historic Armenian Kingdom where you find God pictured on the wall of the church. Coming back from Noravank visit the winery of Areni and taste some delicious Armenian wines. We strongly recommend trying cherry and pomegranate wines.
6. Haghpat and Sanahin Monasteries two masterpieces of Armenian Medieval Architecture.
7. Spend some time in our cosmopolitan capital Yerevan and enjoy the nightlife of visiting restaurants, clubs and cafes and the markets in the daytime.
8. While in Yerevan visit the National Gallery storing the largest collection of artifacts capturing the Armenian cultural heritage.
9. Matenadaran the script museum in Yerevan where you can find an impressive collection of ancient manuscripts (make sure you have a “ponchik” a local doughnut from the nearby Grand Candy Café).

the 11-th I would suggest the “Men” statue

You are right, that statue is by one of our great architects Davit Minasyan.
That statue always keeps in our minds the bright memory of an excellent movie called “The Men” by Edmond Keosayan. The movie tells a story of four very close friends and the problems they are facing. For all those who would like to see the statue you can find it near the Saryan’s Park in front of the Opera House.
I would also add the great Zorats Karer, or the Armenian Stonehenge. Located in the Syuniq province, the area is fantastic for day hikes.
