This was actully the very best hostel I've ever been to! honestly, i was literally shocked by the attitude of the staff here, all were increadibly nice to me, I have no words to describe it. THEY EVEN FOUND OUT IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND THEY PREPARED A CAKE FOR ME! advice: definitely come here if it's your birthday :) I loved the rooms and the breakfast was nice too. the only thing I really wish for is to come back as soon as posiible. thank you once more for everything. To the Staff and future visitors at Envoy Hostel: I have enjoyed my stay here enormously. The city is spectacular, the country is beautiful and the staff at the hostel is great. Still great impressions by departure. Ani is just the best of the best, Arpine is a good angel of the house, Gevork is a very friendly chap. Here are some remarks which help you to be better:

1. add more light bulbs in the breakfast room, otherwise it looks a bit like a soviet style, the lustra is suited for 4 light but only 2 burn.
2. lock for the toilet (men)
3. more light for the internet room.
4. the light in the corridor above could go automatically off, it saves energy.
It's just little hint, how you can do the things better. Still very impressed by your hospitality & keep you all in my mind.

Dear Envoy team, you guys made our first encounter with Georgia and Tbilisi an unforgettable, sweet experience. Envoy is great. We first stayed at Envoy in erevan (That was our 3rd time! :) ) and then came to this brand new Envoy.  We appreciate all you do to make a nice stay for the guests. The place was very beautiful and clean. Guest #10 - The first one in double digits. That makes me as special as the first 9. As a frequent visitor to Envoy Yerevan I was delighted to learn the Envoy Tbilisi would be open for my first stay in this city. Everything is as terrific as I am accustomed to: courteous, friendly staff, hot, hot showers, ample breakfast and clean and comfortable accommodations. I had a fantastic stay with friends for a long weekend in Georgia from Armenia, where I had stayed at their sister Envoy hostel in Yerevan, which I was very happy with. The views from the balcony here are fantastic,and you are literally right under the castle remains which you can walk up to for an even more amazing view. The rooms were clean, the beds were firm and new (in fact everything there is new) and breakfast was filling with tea & coffee available any time for free. score of 9.5/10 Australia, Female 25-30, Rated 100% on HW.

The staff are good people and know many things and like to help people. the hostel was comfortable, very clean, good toilets and showers and sleeping rooms with locks. I like the old part of town it was in and the views from their balcony. as a female i also felt safe at the hostel and the area it was in. it was my first time in a hostel, and I liked it very much as a good way to meet people and have more fun. They also did a party for guests with Georgian boys singing, it was amazing night. Armenia, Female 25-30, Rated 100% on HW.

Directions to the hostel given on Hostelworl could be improved! It is important to know that most taxi drivers and even people who work or live in the locality do not know where Betlemi St is..and as for the other streets mentioned...forget it -- nobody knows them! Clearer would be: when in Gorgasali Square enter the signposted Brother Zdaniewicz St, turn immediately left into a street currently under construction , take the first right, and Envoy is half way up the steep incline on the right. Its become apparent that most ppl know the streets but not by official names :) so our new instructions should make it clear.

I stayed most of my time in Yerevan in a private residence for free but after staying at Envoy for the time I did I would actually have preferred to have paid to stay at Envoy the whole time! Super clean, the best staff + the location is brilliant. I highly recommend all the tours as the guides are hilarious, excellent with their knowledge + getting to fit so much in each tour means the best use of time while travelling.Buses + drivers also brilliant. Very friendly with a caring and helpful attitude. The hostel was located in the heart of the city which was central to all amenities , Close to shops and restaurants. Very clean and safe environment. Shower facilities were superb with simple hearty breakfast to get us going for the day. Tours were simply arranged without any fuss within reasonable prices. Super clean, safe and a great location - what else can a traveler ask for! Oh yeah, friendly staff - check! It was a pleasant stay and I'd list it among the best hostels I've ever stayed in. “Sehr nettes Hotel oberhalb der alten Innenstadt”

Das Hostel liegt sehr zentral oberhalb der alten Innenstadt. Die Metrostationen sind etwas entfernt.
Sehr nette Mitarbeiter. Auch wenn man kein Zimmer mehr hat, kann man bis nachts im Hostel bleiben und auf seinen Flug warten. Einfaches Frühstück ist in der Übernachtung enthalten.

Insgesamt ist das Hostel sehr zu empfehlen.

“Super clean, super friendly, super location”

Great location right off Meidani Square, below Narikala Fortress and Mother of Georgia, right in the heart of Old Town. Staff was friendly, helpful and smiled often - things unfortunately not common yet in the service industry in Georgia. Spotless. Bathrooms sparkling clean. Rainfall shower. Hot water. Good air conditioning. Reliable wifi. Small breakfast, but it's a nice snack until you hit up one of the many great restaurants in the area. Steep walk up a brick road to the hostel, FYI.

We've lived in Georgia two years and have been to Tbilisi numerous times. This place is a great find. Highly recommended.

“A risk that proved its worth!”

We initially booked a hostel that has a higher review rating. However, our travel date got changed and the dates are not available with the first chosen hostel. We then booked this hostel because they were the second one to have answered our first inquiry.

Pros...
- location is right in the heart of the city (near restos, bars, historical places to visit)
- very clean rooms and surroundings
- helpful staff (loved annie most of all!.. she's like the information centre. if for some reason, she has no ready answer, she would try to phone people /places to get the answers for us)
- included breakfast is enough to give travelers the energy they need for their travel
- loved the balcony...offering great view of the city
- kitchen facilties are available
- with hot/cold water facilities

Cons...
- difficult to locate especially for a first-time traveller because taxi drivers do not know the place or has any idea where the junction streets are

“Hostel that loves you...:)”

This is my first hostel experience and I absolutely loved it!!! Very clean and spacious rooms. Very helpful staff and friendly too! Especially loved Anni!!! Definitely recommended!

“great location, good staff, clean and comfortable”

I'm trying hard to think of something that isn't fantastic about this place or the people that work their, and the best I can come up with is that if your taxi doesn't make it up the hill, you need to walk for 48 steps (yes, I actually counted) or 20-30 seconds from the bottom of the hill.

The staff are friendly, multilingual and will go out of their way to help, even when off duty. The beds are clean, firm and comfortable as is all the bedding provided. The showers are FANTASTIC with actual water pressure! The kitchen does not have a microwave, but has everything else you could possibly want.

The view from the balcony is awesome, the hostel is close to pretty much everything and the free walking tour they offer is definitely worth taking. Looking forward to my return to Tiblisi, I didn't realise there was so much history there...and yes, we'll stay here again :0)

However I hope you agree that the view from the balcony makes the few steps worthwhile... the views of Tbilisi are simply stunning! Plus once at Envoy, the trip up the hill to see the Narikala fortress is much easier :). We have also now released on our website a downloadable 'How to Find Us' guide including a map and simple instructions (in English and Georgian) to allow easy communication with taxi drivers, in case of driving up to our hostel.

The great: The rooftop terrace view - fantastic! The staff - friendly, personable, good English. A lovely, enclosed courtyard at the hostel entrance.

The maybe good - The community room wasn't furnished yet when I was there. It's a good space and should be nice if/when furnished.

The good - Kitchen spacious; good complement of dishware, pots and pans, etc. for use. Location in upscale part of old town Tbilisi is very good. Very clean, modern esthetic, without clashing with historic neighborhood design.

The OK - dining room small and windowless, but adequate. Private rooms pretty and have a balcony. Down side is they are immediately behind the reception desk and adjacent to the kitchen/community room, so the noise potential is high.

Disappointing - Dorm rooms claustrophobic. At least one room has no direct window access.

A potential deal-breaker for some: The access to the hostel is exceedingly steep. So steep it's difficult for taxis to negotiate the incline. In good weather, this might not be more than a small inconvenience for some. In the winter, however, Tbilisi does *not* remove snow/ice from pavements, so climbing up or down the incline will be hazardous ( no "might be" about it).

Envoy Hostel's prices are higher than other hostels in Tbilisi. In my opinion, this isn't warranted, but YMMV.

“a fabulous hostel”

i can't recommend this new hostel enough. it is well located, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, there's an incredible rooftop terrace to hang out on, generous breakfast, and it's spotlessly clean. not to mention free internet, and 24-hour security (which was good when someone we met in another hostel wanted to follow us around) and more than fair rates. enjoy!

“Right in the Heart of Where You Need To Be”

My former professor and I stayed there for a night and had an excellent time with the engaged staff. Good breakfast and immaculate quarters/bathrooms. It will be great when they get the remainder of their ordered furniture. They had only been open 2 weeks when we arrived :)
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were able to suggest a great traditional Georgian place to eat dinner that was only several blocks away. Just what we needed on such a tight schedule. Ordered an affordable taxi for us to the Armenian-Georgian border. thanks.

As it is a new place, the taxi driver that brought us from the train station was a little confused, but it was only because of some construction blocking some of the street. There is currently a lot being built around the hostel which is at the foot of a great fortress that you'll want to check out. Luckily, none of the noise can be heard from the hostel - the building is solid and cozy, definitely worth the couple extra dollars/euros/insert currency here! This prime location in Old Tblisi is convenient and beautiful. Eager to see it again in full swing. Bravo Envoy!

“Great staff and lovely place”

Located in the heart of old town Tbilisi, with a very nice view from its balcony, this place has the greatest staff amongst all the hotels and hostels I have ever been across the world. This hostel offers very clean rooms at good rate. Specially if you want to stay in ahred rooms you will only pay for one bed and can be sure you will enjoy meeting other guests. the staff are very helpful and very friendly. If I travel to Tbilisi again I will certainly go back to Envoy hostel.
